The PRESTON PedalFest Cycle Sportive, 24th July 2016


What is the PRESTON PedalFest?

Preston PedalFest Cycle Sportive is a cycle ride which will take place from Avenham Park, Preston on Sunday 24th July 2016.
The route is just over 60 miles and starts from the beautiful Avenham Park, Preston. The route initially heads out of the park and over towards Mellor and then Whalley, taking in some of the beautiful Ribble Valley lanes and hills. From Whalley you will head out via Great Mitton & then Whitewell before arriving in Dunsop Bridge to tackle the infamous Trough climb. Having earned a food stop you will head down into Abbeystead for a half way feed.
Following the food stop the homeward leg skirts around the Forest of Bowland, along some quiet country lanes through Oakenclough and Inglewhite before heading through Broughton and Woodplumpton. From here you will meander your way back to Avenham Park via Preston Docks where you can relax and take in all that Avenham Park has to offer.
The route is undulating, the roads are quiet and the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. Full refreshments are available at the half way stop and Avenham Park will be the host of lots of other activities during the day as well as numerous stalls selling food and drinks once you finish your ride.

The 'Bolton Bash Cycle Sportive' 25th September 2016


 What is the event?

The 2016 Bolton Bash Cycle Sportive is a cycle ride that takes place from Smithills School, Bolton and promises to be a “reet grand” day out in Lancashire. There will be free parking on the day and registration will take place at the school/leisure centre. The routes are fully signed, however it is worth noting that the roads are not closed and you will be required to follows the rules of the road, stopping at junctions and traffic lights on the course. This is a non-competitive 'cycle challenge' event and you can start any time between 8:00am and 9:30am. At registration you will be given a timing chip which is attached to your bike. As you roll across the start line your personal timing will start and then finish as you return back to the finish line.

The Cumbrian Cracker Cycle Sportive November 2016


What is the Cumbrian Cracker?

The Cumbrian Cracker Cycle Sportive is a cycle ride that takes place from Grasmere Village Hall on Sunday November 2016. The route is just short of 60 miles and heads South along the shores of Coniston to the feed stop at Cartmel Scout Hut.
Following the feed stop the Northern leg then weaves it's way through fantastic country lanes, returning via Grizedale forest, Hawkshead and Ambleside.
You will see some fantastic views as you ride alongside Coniston Lake and through Grizedale Forest.
The route is undulating but does not climb any of the major passes. The roads in South Lakeland are some of the best you will ever ride and well worth the trip! Hot food is available for everyone at the finish and is included within your entry fee
