Dolan ADX Titanium Disc Road Bike - Shimano 105 R7020

I have ridden over 3,000km on this bike and I adore it. I was between sizes, so I went slightly smaller and what I have is a very responsive bike with snappy handling that I can ride on for hours. It was a lot stiffer than I was expecting, but in a good way - this isn’t a sluggish Winter bike. But, I can fit 32mm tyres, as well as mudguards. The frame itself is wonderfully put together - neat welds everywhere, beautifully machined dropouts and fully internal cable routing. If I could only keep one bike, it’d be this one.

I wanted a winter bike and did lots of research before ordering the ADX Titanium Disc with 105 and Hunt wheels. My main criteria were value for money and availability. Dolan had my bike ready in 9 weeks and I collected it in November 2021. It looked great, was lighter than I expected and had proper mudguards ready to cope with the Cumbrian winter. I had dome initial problems with a sliding seat post but Dolan were eventually to sort this out by replacing the matching Titanium clamp with a standard black alloy one. This is still fine. I am writing this review after a 9 weeks trip to France. I had to choose between bringing my carbon framed best bike or my Dolan ADX. I opted to bring the ADX minus the mudguards and it hasn't let me down. I've ridden mainly on roads but some gravel cycle paths too and lots of climbing. Seven weeks of the trip has been spent in the Pyrenees and Alps with a brief visit to Ventoux too. I have been very pleasantly surprised with how my bike has both climbed and descended many high cols. Descending really is a joy as its so stable and the disc brakes inspire confidence. I'm very happy I made the right choice.

I spent a long time researching for my next bike and really wanted something more than a standard Aluminium frame. After reading lots of reviews about Titanium frames I decided this was for me. The guys at Dolan were able to help me with the frame size and got it spot on. The frame is excellent, and although I have only had the bike a week I have been clocking up the miles with ease. The frame handles so well and absorbs all the little lumps and bumps in the road really well. It feels responsive, firm and comfortable. I am looking forward to many years clocking up the miles on this bike.

4 years ago I bought a Dolan Etape with 105. It is a fantastic bike but now in my mid 50's it was a little racey for my back!! After a bit of research I ordered a ADX disc back in February without actually seeing one. I picked it up on Friday from the showroom, my Wife dropped me off and the ride home is 8ish miles. 27 miles later I got there!! I had instantly fallen in love with it. It is uber comfortable and glides along the road effortlessly!! It's now Tuesday and I've clocked up 150 amazing miles,!! Can't wait to rack up the miles on this fantastic bike. The service from Dolan was excellent!!
